"I always found art to be a fun, creative way to pass time and grow in skill. In my later years, I now find this practice to be a lot more than an excuse to throw colors and lines onto a page, to render, illustrate, and animate characters and worlds into existence. I love to tell stories and create characters that will take viewers on journeys that range from childish innocence to the insanity and horror while integrating personal life lessons of friendship, family, environment, change, and knowing oneself. Like many other artists, I'm fairly self expressive in my work. At times, I'll transform my frustration and negative emotions fueled by low self-esteem into little art projects that give me peace and serenity, or maybe I'll continue to explore and enhance my artist signature style. I believe art is escape. We are meant to push our boundaries and explore other mediums; painting, mixed media, sculpture, etc. I strive to use materials that reflect the inner state of my pieces; bright, soft pastel colors for childish imagery, soft pencil and ink strokes to detail nature, paint to enhance brilliant colors and create obscure, abstract realms, even food scraps to create gory textures. Art is relaxing, therapeutic, nostalgic, infinite, limitless."
